From TideSports.com article "Richardson takes on leadership role as No. 1 RB"

Not surprisingly, their conversations since the end of the season haven't focused on X's and O's.

"He's telling me, 'Stay on top of everything. You're the man now. Keep the boys up. Tell coach (Burton) Burns stay after me.' and stuff like that," Richardson said. "'Stay after coach Burns, make sure everybody's on point. Make sure you're giving your offensive line praise,' like we always do. 'When the next man's on the field, cheer him on.'"

Judging simply on the advice he gives to the player who is taking his spot next year, how solid of a guy must Mark Ingram be? I knew he was a fantastic person but what he's supposedly telling TR really impresses me more-- "Tell Coach Burns to stay after me," "make sure you're giving your offensive line praise," and "when the next man's on the field, cheer him on."

i am thinking something comparable to that first half of the penn state game.. that was brutal..

i don't know if i've ever seen a running back more physically dominant than Richardson against San Jose St and, as you said, against Penn St in the first half. i mean seriously, it took nearly the whole defense to simply get him out of bounds or stop him long enough for the ref to blow the whistle. during those six quarters i'd venture to say that Richardson was actually tackled on only 50% of his touches.

oh, and against Penn St, how about his 1 yd TD run? had he followed his blocking to the right he could have walked untouched into the endzone. instead, he goes up the gut to take on one or two LBs with clean hits.

he definitely doesn't have the vision of Mark, but his raw power is as amazing as his physique.

I'll never forget that long td run against Arkansas when he was a freshman. Broke 5 or 6 tackles around the LOS, then all of a sudden he was in the clear and turned on the jets.

I look for Trent to really be the Bell Cow this year and totally abuse defenses. It is a mighty small word to mean so much, but IF he can stay healthy, I think he puts up numbers as good or even better to Mark's 09 numbers.

Yeah, that was really great, but, one of his most underrated runs but probably the biggest-- though he did it with some help-- remember that he was the one that ran up the gut 50 yards in the national championship against Texas. That was awesome to me.
