šŸˆ Mark Ingram Out For San Jose Game

Not that I'm suddenly worried the season is coming apart or anything, but, this reminds me of another season. 2004, I do believe. Brodie, Ray Hudson, Tim Castille, Kenneth Darby. Making me nervous!

on the bright side i guess we will get to see what eddie has

After Trent runs thru them a few times!

I'd rather this game be the game Ingram has to miss if he had to miss any. Fingers crossed on a speedy full recovery for Mark.

Update:

ā€œMark had an arthroscopic procedure this morning with Dr. Cain and Dr. Andrews and it was successful. We have full confidence in our medical staff and we know the doctors and athletic trainers will do an outstanding job in taking care of Mark and assisting him in his rehab.
ā€œMark will definitely be out for this week’s game against San Jose State and we will manage this on a week to week basis beyond this week. We will make every decision in the future based on what’s best for Mark and his career as we consult with Dr. Cain and Dr. Andrews on his progress. This is not an injury that will affect Mark’s future ability to make a full recovery in a relatively short time frame.ā€

Looking back on the original announcement that the decision was made to go ahead and fix it makes me think its something he might have played through if it had happened in mid season.

All I gathered from what I've read so far is they took a look at the knee and this was a success. Success meaning there wasn't any damage??? It makes for news a few days before the opening game so I assume the media will run with it now. I think everything will be fine by no later then the Duke game.

I say let him recover and come back 100%. Let Trent and Eddie pick up the pace. No worries.

I 100% have to agree. No need to make the situation worse.

No worries for 3 reasons...

1- Minor injury/minor surgery. Nobody will work harder at rehabbing it than Mark. He'll be back soon.

2- If he misses 2 or 3 games, in the end, it shouldn't make much of a difference on the scoreboard, but he will have fresher legs later on in the season during the meat of the schedule.

3- Literally, #3.

This will be a great opportunity for Lacy to get some carries and show if he is capable. Plus Goode will get some reps too that will be meaningful instead of just mop up. Hate it for Mark for sure but for the team this could be a positive thing.

This post is: :td:

I like this scenario.

I think even without Ingram, Lacy would have had enough carries.

I also like the idea of Trent getting a quick start to his Heisman campaign, given that Ingram misses a number of games.

It'd be something to be going into the National Championship game with 2 Heisman award winning running backs.

Agreed - as strange as it sounds, this kind of adversity could be a positive rallying point to shake any lingering complacency that may have set in.

Here's to Mark's 100% recovery and the Trent and Eddie show in the meantime. Woe betide any opponent that thinks they just got a break.

Can everyone please stop saying, "Mark Ingram is out for the season..............................................................................................................................opener against San Jose State." Every time I read that it almost gives me a heart attack!

Mark did not do well against the barn last season, but TR stepped up big time. That in itself makes me feel a little better. But, I will not fully relax until Mark is back. Just like I won't be able to un-pucker my you-know-what until we hear SOMETHING from the national communists against athletes about Marcel. I mean, tell us he is suspended, tell us anything, tell us SOMETHING!!!

Did you see Scarbo's article on this today?

Sounds like we should just cancel the season. We will miss Mark for sure, he is an amazing player. But obviously, Scarbo must have been in the can while Trent Richardson had the ball last year.

This is the part I love the best:
"It's also important to remember that Alabama needed both Ingram and Richardson to beat Texas - minus the injured Colt McCoy - in the BCS Championship Game."

As if the part in bold is an * that will forever tarnish the legitimacy of that win. Does he ever write an article where he talks about that game without adding "Minus Colt McCoy"? Maybe he should write some articles about Bama's 04 games and add "minus the injured Brodie Croyle" to every one we lost. Or maybe when he talks about the Texas win over Oklahoma last year he can add "minus the injured Sam Bradford" to it. Sorry for the rant, im just so sick of hearing that.
