Manziel's debut. Yikes!

I was hoping the debut of Johnny Manziel would have been more productive and exciting as so many Canadians footy fans are rooting for him to do well .... but it turned out to be the worst showing in CFL history by any former NFL'r new to the Canadian Football League. His first pass was an interception....and it was so bad it looked as if he was actually passing right to the opposing player, and that was repeated later as well. I'm sure with time he'll adapt to the CFL game but this is just another example of the difficulties that imported athletes in key positions face when trying to play our game. It's soooo different than American football.

It was bad. We were at a restaurant eating dinner with the game going on and it seemed like every time I glanced over he was either throwing a pick, a lame duck or getting knocked on his ass.

There are def. intricacies of the game that are very different (the size of the field, the fact that there are 12 players on the field instead of 11, the motion rules, etc.) and QB is probably one of the more difficult positions to transition to but he couldn't do anything right that night. Maybe he will end up settling in and "getting it" but it's going to be a long time for him probably. Doubt he has that kind of patience.
