A man has been found guilty of reckless manslaughter in a crash that killed the daughter of former University of Alabama defensive coordinator Joe Kines.

The Tuscaloosa News reported today that 23-year-old Marcus Terrell Crawford was found guilty in the 2010 death of 43-year-old Susan Kines Langston.

Authorities have said Kines, a first grade teacher, was riding with her two sons when Crawford's car collided with hers in June 2010.

Crawford is expected to be sentenced April 20. The judge allowed him to remain free on bond with supervision from the Tuscaloosa County corrections department.

umm.....WHY?!
 
As I recall, the driver was trying to pass another car when he hit her car. Reckless, no doubt. Malicious intent?

Perhaps the judge is giving him time to get his personal business in order. That's assuming there might be jail time...it very well could be a case of a horrible mistake compounded with horrible luck.
 
I can't recall the facts of this case and can't find anything meaningful online. Was he speeding or something? I haven't seen anything other than he crossed the line and they both tried to clear each other, but they ultimately collided.

Again, from memory...as I recall he was charged with vehicular homicide when the accident occurred. That charge didn't stick and it went to the Grand Jury. That brings in the question of how often, and how long, do they meet?

Something taking this long to get through the "system" really isn't a shock to me.
