| FTBL LSU qb Hatch hurt

He's the runner from Hah-vud. I never really understood why anyone was worried about an Ivy League guy in the SEC anyway. Means little. I hope they're at full strength when we pistol-whip them.

He's the runner. I doubt this will have a large impact on our game with them.

Hatch Rushing stats on the season: 35 atts/129 yards/2 tds.

Passing stats: 25/45 2td - 1 int 55.6%completions 282 yards.

So Lee gets the chance to grow as much as he can in one game, and gets to do so against a desirable opponent (Tulane). This is good for Lee and LSU.

Balancing this is that Hatch loses a game of playing time, but it was only Tulane, and will enter the Alabama game with his own questions about his knee, but well rested. Potentially he can forgo the Tulane study and spend the entire two weeks looking at Bama film, if the coaching staff can support it. Also, their true freshman Jefferson will have to prepare this week as their #2. Unless he plays against Tulane, he grows little. Even if he plays, it will do little to ready him for Bama.

So there you go...on Joe's thoughts.

FWIW, I don't think the injury to Hatch isn't going to be one of those "rest a week" type of situations if the reports about his leg being fractured are indeed true. The question I see is the severity of the fracture. The answer to that probably won't be forth coming considering how "close to the vest" Miles is with injuries.

Right now, word out of the Baton Rouge area is Jefferson is taking snaps in practice this week already. If he ends up getting reps against Tulane, we'll probably see him in our game in their "running QB plays" but we'll have to guard against him throwing the ball as well. I'd consider him to be more of a threat in the passing game than Hatch.

The biggest question in my mind has to do with Jefferson. His "shoulder injury" earlier in the year pointed to the LSU staff probably looking to apply for a "hardship/medical redshirt" year. If he plays against Tulane, that's out the window I'd think. (funny side note...I've seen more than one LSU fan on different forums hint that the "injured shoulder" was a bit over blown with the hopes of a medical/hardship year. Fake an injury, or the severity of it, seems odd to me)

One safe assumption? A shaky QB situation for LSU hasn't improved after the UGA game.

Sadly, regardless of how lee plays, it actually helps Miles. Now it can hide his inadequecy of picking who should be in the game at what time.

All I know is that LSU should continue calling for those passes out in the flat when Lee's quarterbacking. They've produced some quick TDs . . . for the other teams.
