No, not at all. Aside from Big Al, Mike is one of the best mascots in college football. Imagine if you're a little kid in Red Stick, and while walking by the cage at a game, the tiger leaps toward you or at least growls. That's quite a memory for a kid.
In the wild, tigers tend to live 10 to 15 years. In captivity, the lifespan is between 20 to 26. Mike VI had a shorter than normal lifespan, but he was beloved by a lot of trainers and fans.

Man I hate this. Was hoping to meet Mike on my first trip to Baton Rouge next month. Glad he's not suffering and hoping the big guy is resting well upstairs with the big man.
Like everybody else, I'm sincerely sorry to learn of Mike's untimely death. However, I can't help observing that it's been years since LSU was any good at managing the clock, and I presume that an interim mascot will be appointed.
