🏈 Look. I enjoyed seeing UCF beat Auburn but claiming a national title?

well, the AP, and/or another service, could conceivably declare them national champions. remember, other poll-makers don't HAVE to follow along with the CFP poll, they can declare their own national champion if they choose.

Gee, I wonder where they got the idea?

I honestly half expect Auburn to print up some NC shirts or some such non-sense as they are the only team to beat both teams playing in the NCG. Maybe some "People's Champion" rings for hte players too.
Got this kid from church, he been a Florida fan for years. Till maybe the last two or three years now. Yesterday he posted on Facebook this "I will leave this here: Both score of our and UGA games. " Yes I'm one that is waiting for the People Champ to come around.

I actually saw an Auburn fan yesterday have the audacity to post a picture of the Alabama-Auburn and UCF-Auburn box scores with a caption that said "Yes, UCF is better than Alabama" or something along those lines. It must really suck to be an Auburn fan. I couldn't imagine being a fan of one team but thinking day and night about a rival.

who cares... let them think or claim whatever they want... it has no relevance to Bama. We beat UGA and history will record the rest....

They had some of their university brass trying to explain the rationale behind the bold proclamation. He said there were a number of teams in his conference that are as good as the barners. The radio dude agreed with him and mentioned South Florida for one.
There is an old biblical principle that says if a man seeks his own glory is it glory? It's rhetorical.

We should not claim '41. I would much rather they claim '66, if they don't want to claim one less. At least that team should have been crowned, as the only undefeated, untied team and kicked Nebraska's ass in the bowl game.

As for UCF, great season and love the Griffin kid, that said, they were very unlikely to go undefeated in a P5 conference.

Now this is why Little Brother is well fitting for them!

The author is endorsing their claim based on a poll that currently has them ranked number one. The season isn't over yet.

We should not claim '41.
I agree with you here. I take issue with the author's premise. He can't make light of one NCAA recognized selector while citing another as reason to substantiate their claim.
