St. Augustine running back Leonard Fournette, who is considered the highest-rated recruit in the country, was named the Player of the Year by the Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club on Monday.

But what is being called a "classy act of selflessness" by NOLA.com, Fournette then presented it to fellow nominee East Jefferson quarterback Eugene Wells.

"I'd like to thank you all again for picking me Prep Player of the Year,'' Fournette said, per NOLA.com. "But I feel like I've seen (Wells) grow as a young man, so I feel like Eugene Wells deserves this.''

According to the report, Fournette then brought the award to Wells.

"I'd like to thank Leonard Fournette,'' said Wells, who was named East Jefferson's Outstanding Player in the Class 4A championship game. "I've been watching him since I was a freshman. He's a great running back.

"I wasn't expecting this, but it's a great honor. Thank you to everyone (involved in the awards) and once again to my family for their support. Once a Warrior always a Warrior.''

Sounds like someone that would look good in the color crimson...
