šŸˆ jonsol: Let the bidding begin. RT @Andy_Staples: Semis will be rotated among 6 bowls. Rose, Champion

What is Champions?
How are the Rose and the Orange already in but the Sugar is not mentioned?

Champions Bowl: The shot across the bow from Slive a few weeks ago- SEC vs Big12 game.

That one move by Slive and Neinas literally put the playoff and those other conferences...well, let's just say it put these talks on their proverbial ears. That one game put the SEC where we've gotten about 99% of what we wanted out of the playoff scenario.

So this game automatically claims one of the two semi-finalist games IF both conferences have their champion selected, meaning that the Rose and the Orange get to take turns hosting the other semi?

If so, I can't help but think, should these two be some combination of the top 3 seeds, that the committee would be slow to select a second SEC of Big12 team.

If the other is the Orange, would that tend to boost the ACC? If the Rose, would the PAC12 and Big10 have the inside track?

Is the Champions Game a move to ensure that both the SEC and the Big12 get one of the 4 slots, leaving the rest of college football to fight over ther other two?

From what I understand the Champions is part of the six bowl games selected to host semi's. Remember, it's a rotation. So, based on that, the Orange will get a semi-final, but it doesn't have any relation with a conference in that the four selected may not include one of the ACC teams.

If I understand this correctly, we'll have a season with two bowls hosting semi's. Let's say it's the Rose and Sugar. Then, you'll have traditional bowl games like the Orange which will select teams to play in their games. I imagine a bowl like the Orange will maintain their relationship with the conference they have a tie-in with during the years they aren't hosting a semi-final game.

You do bring up a good question of just how conferences and the bowl-tie in's we have now will look like in two years. It would make sense for it to remain close to what it is now. I can't see the Sugar not selecting a team from the SE, just like I can't see the Rose not grabbing their two traditional conferences.
