Game is on the SEC Network right now. Until Bama starts giving more effort and playing defense they are going to struggle. Furman is up by 15 midway in 1st half. Making it way to easy on Furman and shooting poorly. Furman was shooting 67% at one time. Bama trying to ask Herb Jones do more than he can do. Same with Reece. Petty throwing up bricks. Very disappointing so far.

Effort better in the 2nd half. Down to 7 point game. One thing I do not understand about Oats I know he wants to play fast on offense but why do you let some of the guys bring the ball up the court that are not really ball handlers. Usually results in a turnover.

Getting Forman's top scorer to foul out with 8:00 minutes remaining has helped. Rojas has come in and even though he is a brute he is giving great effort. Now see if they can defend enough to get over the hump.

Pulled it out 83-80. This team may drive me crazy and I do not have that far to go smh. Bama (Shackelford) missed 4 straight free throws to close out the game but still won. Good thing they pushed the lead to 5 otherwise that would have cost them the game. Seemed like Oats finally put some gritty defenders out that and sat the scorers on the bench. Those guys were hungry and gave more effort. Then when the scorers came back into the game their effort was much better. Depth paid off tonight.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Herbert Jones scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to key the Alabama men’s basketball team to an 83-80 comeback win in Coleman Coliseum Tuesday night. Furman led by as many as 16 points and for all but 1:18 of the contest, however, with the Crimson Tide used a 15-9 run over the last six minutes to secure the victory.

Jones added four assists and two blocks to his fifth career double-double and second this season. Jaden Shackelford finished with 13 points while James Rojas contributed a season-high 11 points and tied his season-high with seven rebounds. Juwan Gary finished with a season high of 10 points
on 4-of-5 shooting and added three rebounds.

The Crimson Tide (4-2) dominated the paint, scoring 40 points inside and grabbing 48 boards while holding the Paladins to 28 points in the paint and 27 rebounds. Alabama also dominated the offensive glass, turning a 21-5 offensive rebounding advantage into a huge 24-3 edge in second chance points.

Furman (5-2) was led by Mike Bothwell (23) and Clay Mounce (21) who combined to score 44 points.

Pitiful game against a program we have no business being down to.
Hang on a second.

Why do you think the line had Bama -5? This is a Furman team who took Cincy to the ropes this season. This is a Furman team who took Auburn to OT last season only to lose by three.

They are a lot better than a lot of people are willing to credit. It's basketball, like baseball, where you can't just look at a teams name and categorize them as "out of their league."

Don't get me wrong. Some ugly basketball last night at times.

Nate had better players at Buffalo than he has at Bama so the name deal isn't worth much in BB. Mercer taking out Coach K should never happen but it did and when it really counted. It is very hard to get excited about Bama BB and it's pretty much documented for us.
