i very good friend of mine went to school with Tony Nathan (albeit 2 years behind him). he said on friday nights it was like watching a seasoned college athlete going against high school freshmen. he even remembers specific games and plays and has told me several stories about Tony and watching him play.

I think Voight is in over his head, him playing Coach Bryant in a movie is about like tiny tim playing Robert E. Lee. None of these sports movies are worth a rip imo.

John Voight, the dentist?
I can't hear what they're saying......Driving around in Jon Voights car.....

In Nathan's senior year, Woodlawn and neighbor/arch rival Banks were the two best teams in the state. For their regular season game, over 40,000 attended at Legion Field. Not sure what direction this is taking, but Birmingham City Schools were integrated in the sixties.

They are looking for LOTS of extras for the 42k person game. My mom went to Banks High back in the mid 60's, she lived over near thrill hill for those of you who know the area. I remember driving thru Woodlawn as a kid.

Also from the link below, a 10 min snipet on the film.

Be a part of History in the new Erwin Brothers Film "Woodlawn"

The Erwin Brothers are filming a movie to be entitled “Woodlawn”, which will detail the 1974 high school football game between Woodlawn and Banks High Schools. It was a game attended by more than 40,000 people who crammed into Legion Field to see Woodlawn High running back Tony Nathan face off against Banks quarterback Jeff Rutledge, players who would later become teammates at the University of Alabama under famed coach Paul “Bear” Bryant.

You have been invited to be part of “Woodlawn” as a movie extra, as we recreate this historic high school football game. We hope you’ll join us to become part of this experience in Alabama football and filming. Get your family and friends to come along, and throughout filming you will hear from radio personality Rick Burgess of “The Rick and Bubba Show” and comedian Bone Hampton, who is flying in, to entertain you between takes.

You won’t want to miss this experience, and to take part simply follow the instructions below and we will see you on the set!

IDK how he will do but "none of these sports movies are worth a rip?" Seriously? Some of the greatest movies ever are sports movies. Just off the top of my head, "The Rocky Series," "42", "Hoosiers", "Junction Boys", "Blue Chips", "Invincible", "The Blindside", "Brians Song", "The Program", "Any Given Sunday", "Rudy", "Remember The Titans", "Friday Night Lights", "Coach Carter", "We Are Marshall," "The Express," "Gridiron Gang", etc. and Im sure old timers can come up with a bunch more.

Is he one of the Castille brothers kid?

That's Jeremiah's youngest son, he was a cornerback on the last national championship team as a walk on. Its really cool that he will be playing Tony Nathan. I've heard Rick & Bubba talking about this movie for weeks now on their radio show, one of their sons is playing a fullback or something on Nathan's team in the movie.
