The time of year for transfer movement is nearing and the status of Jalen Hurts will only draw growing attention in the weeks to come.

Addressing a comment made on CBS during the Iron Bowl, Nick Saban said discussions with Hurts about transferring ā€œreally hasn’tā€ come up.

ā€œWe’re all kind of focused on this game,ā€ Saban said Wednesday evening. ā€œI think Jalen is focused on the game. I’m focused on the game. I don’t think anybody is thinking much about that now and I don’t think we’ll be thinking a lot about it until we finish playing.ā€

Alabama (12-0) plays fourth-ranked Georgia at 3 p.m. CT Saturday in the SEC Championship.

A starter the previous two seasons, Hurts assumed a back-up role behind Heisman-candidate Tua Tagovailoa. Appearing in 10 games this season, the junior is 43-for-58 passing (74.1 percent) with 673 yards, seven touchdowns and two interceptions.

Hurts, it would appear, upped his stock showing improved accuracy and confidence in the passing game when relieving Tagovailoa.

He bypassed the option of retaining a redshirt by playing in more than four games this season. Set to graduate in December, Hurts would have one season of eligibility and could play immediately if he chose to transfer.

ā€œJalen has been a real positive influence on the team this year,ā€ Saban said. ā€œHe’s really handled this as professionally as anyone could expect anyone to. He’s embraced the role he has, and I think he’s improved because of it. I think whatever happens in the future, that’s going to benefit him.ā€

Ok....so if JH transfers....in the SEC. Where?
My thought is...Florida....
Mullen good QB teacher...
Florida doesnt play Bama...

I wish he would stay, but I will understand if he doesn't. That being said...I could live with him going to UF. Mullen would be a great Coach to hone his already impressive skills. As I said, I hope he stays, but I wish him absolute and total success whatever he decides (as long as it doesn't come down to facing the Tide).

ROLL TIDE!

I really could see him staying if our QB coach stays. He's progressed well under him. We'll have just about the same offensive talent next year so I would expect MANY opportunities for him to showcase what he can do. He'll put down plenty of film for scouts to see.

Where else is he going to have as much talent around him to help him showcase himself than at Bama?

Now, I'm not going to bet or put money down on him NOT transferring; however, it wouldn't surprise me either if he chooses to stay. Either way he's done it in a very respectful way and I wish him all the luck no matter what he decides.

If he does transfer, what about FAU?

That would be my first guess or possibly one of the Texas schools. I know folks would love for him to stay but I think he needs a year of running an offense on his own if he is to have any chance at moving to the next level. JMO (I do not mean that to start an argument about whether or not he plays at next level)

I prefer that he stays. But, he has to follow his heart and do what's best for him. As long as it does not affect Bama, I wish him the most absolute and total success whichever he decides. As I said, and I can't stress this enough...I prefer he would stay for his final season at Bama. ROLL TIDE!
