I'll start by saying, again, Trump is a piece of crap who deserves no special consideration.I'll say, though, that the prosecution's case that the transaction was obscured to hide it before the election is a red herring. If they'd simply recorded the payment on the date it was made, the campaign finance disclosure wouldn't have been due until December, after the election. The campaign finance expert ready to testify to that fact was not allowed by the judge, nor was that fact allowed to be included as part of the jury instruction. Had an average person fully considered that bit, I don't think the prosecution would've gone 34-for-34.
