🏈 Injuries new on Earle and Harrell

It'll be nice to get that speed back from those two, but I think it is more of the line than receivers. Bryce is all over the place running away from defenders and has very little time for route development. Now Burton was a waste on Saturday and was not what we brought him in for. Brooks I feel could be used more across the middle like Holden due to size, and we finally did that late in the game.

Also need a cure for the "Hands of Stone" syndrome. :p

I could have swore I read an article that said that BAMA had like 5 or 6 players hit over 21 mph on their electronic timers they wear.

Also haft to be where you are supposed to be when you run a route depending on the coverage. Could be a mental thing as much as physical.

Maybe Harrell is fast enough that Bryce can't overthrow him, too...
I know BY didn't hit all of his throws down the field but BY is not the issue in my opinion. I think it is the OL. Need better pass protection but running game would help the entire offense. Saying it is just one thing is probably an oversimplificaiton,

So my question is more along the lines of the OL and what is going on there. Could it be with more RPO and spread our OL it makes the lineman less physical. They play the way they practice right?

All that said I still think the Bama team is going to be fine. One game that Bama played almost as bad as they could and still won.

The Bama center is average at best and you have Randolph beside him just means even more average. I just don't get why people expect more out of a group of average offensive linemen. Then we go to Vandy and get a left tackle because Nick and staff shit the bed recruiting OL talent for these past 2-3 years along with coaching changes etc. What know is Nick is playing the best he has. Bama has 2 more weeks to get it together.

JMO but the receiver problem is a larger problem than the OL.

#17 has a catching problem but has the speed to get open
#80 can catch but Coach needs to get him to turn up the field and take the yards instead of trying to juke these DB's
#3 needs to STFU and apply himself to getting open and catching the ball

I don't recall a game where a saw a Bama team making so many mistakes over and over for 4 qtrs. Then again, I am only 72.

We got a chance and two more weeks to right the wrongs as well as find the Jimmy and Joe's to get it done. The good news is there are no really great teams at this point.

He isn't THE issue, he's one of the issues IMO. It's the whole package. The O-Line is pretty terrible - and has been for the past two years - and has not improved at all since last year. The receivers are probably the weakest Alabama has had since pre Kiffin. Jase is good for one big run a game and then a bunch of 2-yard and a cloud of dust runs. Gibbs is the better runner/receiver of the bunch but if he keeps getting Bryce killed by not realizing that maybe he should at least get in the way of that guy blitzing right in front of his face untouched he'll get less and less playing time. And I'm being overly critical (I'm still salty lol) but Bryce is a lot more inconsistent than I think anyone really wants to admit.

Oh, and Bill O'Brien is a terrible coach. Period.

On the recruiting comment, all indications showed that Bama had one of the best OL recruting classes in 2019 or 2020, can't recall which. It appears some of those guys have not lived up to their recruting rankings. I think that may be where development and last years OL coach comes into play. Heck two of those came from Texas and their father played for Texas.

On the mistakes, the team had 11 penatiles in the first half and 4 in the 2nd. They played better in the 2nd half. Not perfect but much less discipline type errors than in the 1st half.

You do not recall that many mistakes because it never happens and is very uncharacteristic of a Saban coached team. That is why I do not expect to see that again this year. I will be shocked if it does.

Bryce definitely not the problem, no debate there. Look anywhere even outside haters on Alabama football like Joel Klatt. He stated in his podcast that Bryce Young just ended up being the best player on the field and without his heroics and his moxie we'd have been dead to rights. Everyone thinks this, not sure why you're hating on the entire team so much. We can't always field 15-0 teams, but Georgia won last year with a blowout loss to us just before the CFP. I'm pretty sure the sky was falling for them after that performance but they managed to figure it out for the Title game. Have faith in Nick Saban and trust the Process

If these inconsistencies continue next 2 weeks, you best stock up on your favorite “pain killer of choice“. Arky, UsluT, OM, and the corn dogs will be very competitive games on the road.
