to move from Washington. Is any defensive coordinator worth two mill per year? That seems pretty steep to me for a guy that'll only be around for a couple or three years.
If nick thinks Lake is worth 2 mill....no problem with me....
If we pay someone...1,1 and a team has receivers running wide open down the field....2 mill will be worth it if the are covered.....
My last year for season tics is 2020....so...it wont matter how much bama spends
Nick likes Banks so you good folks can stop bitching. I assume there is something in Sark's current contract that has prevented the U of A from announcing his arrival at T-town? If you pay Lake 2 then Sark will be in the same ballpark AND all these assistant coaches salaries will move up as well. I expect we will not hear anymore rumors about Lance Taylor back to Alabama in the years ahead. If Nick didn't hire him this time then I doubt it will ever happen.
If a DC comes with credentials, it's a difference maker. These coordinators will make or break a program fast enough. At Bama it's not what you make, it's what you can do.

There are still new names popping up with position coaches (DL, Brian Baker being one) giving me the impression it's not over yet. With that, I am thinking Golding gets the full DC title.
The entire search, on both sides of the ball, has been pretty fluid this off-season. A lot don't realize that Chip Long was as close to being a done deal as it could be before Sark came back into the picture. With Sark, the offensive hires changed course which led to guys like Flood taking over the offensive line.
The hiring of the new staff hasn't gone as smoothly as a lot think. We're in a situation where we're seeing some of what I consider to be "asinine fan opinions" and "administrative opinions" mirroring each other. The big difference is the former doesn't have any clout or a perceived notion they can weigh in on decisions--the latter do.
It appears that some influential folks inside UA feel the need to show their influence and stand in the way of Coach Saban on rehiring Bo Davis.....though not the AD. Never the less because of this, rumors of new names for DL coach will start to emerge.
Bo Davis has been cleared by the SEC office. The problem is in Ttown. Barring some change in attitudes at UA, Bo ain't coming and will likely land at UGA or Texas A&M.
