šŸˆ If you think Tagovailoa has a right quad injury, I’ve got some fantastic beach property in Siberia to sell you

well i'm not sure what mr. hayes background is to know what type of injury he has or what would affect it, but i can tell you that the shot he took to the quad would have affected the quad. lol.

The injury was present and brace was applied when he fell on that knee a game or two ago and was pushed down on the flexed knee. I don't remember exactly when that happened. That certainly could have made his situation worse at the PCL.

Kid needs rest, but a shot to the quad by a helmet is no joke. complicates things for good muscular contraction around an already injured knee. I don't think anyone is questioning that his knee is the primary injury, but a quad injury on the same side changes things significantly on that plant foot side.

I take the utmost solace in knowing that the last thing coach Saban will do is put a player in the game that can't defend himself. Jalen Hurts readily comes to mind. This is more of a lingering, aggravating injury than anything else at this point. If I see that Tua is not pushing off or doesn't have the sudden muscle reflex, I will be glad to retract all this. Against the dawgs, he had both until he had to leave.

First off... the hit on Tua in the MSU game was most certainly on in the middle of the quad and NOT the knee. The foot was off the ground at the time of the hit.. so I doubt that hit or injury has/had anything to do with his knee.

Watching him play the last two games, I'd say his knee is just fine. In the LSU game, it appears to me that brace bothered him more on the run than his knee hurting. When if finishes the run he grab the brace and pulls it UP.... He doesn't grab his knee. He furthermore proceeds to JUMP in the air with a chest bump in celebration. I don't think someone with a knee that was hurting on that run would do that.

In the MSU game, it appears he moved around just fine on his runs. He was taken out of the game when the game was over... I would guess that charlie horse he got in the quad on that play is still sore to this day... but it's something that will go away and won't have a lasting affect.

He'll most likely play in the Citadel game for at least 2 or 3 drives and then turn it over to either Hurts or Mac. I really don't see this as an issue...

As for Matt Hayes opinion... it's both self serving and inaccurate... I don't take any stock in it at all.

A quad injury would have little affect on the stabilization of the knee in regards to a PCL injury. The PCL stabilizes bone to bone and keeps the knee from hyperflexion. The muscles that would be involved the most with the hyperflexion stability would be the hamstrings, not the quads.

EDIT: I take that back for a minute... ACL/Hamstring would work in pair for Extension and PCL/Quad would work in pair for flexion... been awhile since my Athletic trainer days... regardless, the "knee" itself is stable. What would be the issue is if the leg is put into extreme hyperflexion again with a weakened quad not able to limit this motion.. this would be a lot of stress on the PCL.

Gc90 seems to have nothing positive to say about anything.....EVER.
Not true.

I worry about Bama winning NC and looking at the field

There is almost a full month to rehab before we possibly play that field. If it was right after the SEC Championship then I would worry, but a full montj layoff is huge for the rehab.

Your opinion is respected...even if disagreed with...
I am sure Saban has exactly the same interest....

And @BamaFan334 ......
Timing with receivers and overall messhing of offense is somewhat important also... need to stay on top of it and keep the offense in fluid motion...for the next 3 weeks...thats why he needs to play...run the offense....keep things working...
Hurts moved around fine in pregame Saturday.....maybe he can get a few snaps in also....and Mac needs more work....so all things can be accomplished...
Cant wait to get Back to Ttown and Saturday game...
