From what I see, we are very good but also have the potential to be beaten by UGA, UT, LSU and AU if we let our guard down and don't bring our A game. Even if we do, UGA could still pull out the win. They are good and haven't played to their full poetential yet. If we are lucky or good enough to make it to Atlanta, I would rather play Florida than Georgia twice.

Is it late October already? Easy there, lots of games to go.

Thank you Reger. We need to beat the dawgs the worry about the next team. SECCG is months away, hell for all you know VANDY could be there!

Don't say that. Hell, that's all we need is for Vandy fans to get all cocky and obnoxious. :D

I've yet to see a reason that makes me think OU won't be undefeated this season.

If they are, they'll get the nod before we do the way I see it breaking down...

I dunno Terry.

Our SOS is lightyears beyond what Auburn had in 2004.

Chances are, if by some stroke we go undefeated, we will have beaten:
Clemson
UGA
Florida
LSU

That is four top 10 teams.

Auburn will be either top 10 or top 20 when we play them.

Five teams in the top 15? We would jump Okie based on SOS.

Oklahoma will have faced no more than 4 (probably only 3) top 25 teams, and only one in the top 10. Kansas plays Colorado before OU, and Ttech plays Texas before OU. Both of them will have dropped - Kansas out of the top 25.

It is entirely hypothetical though.

Sad but true for this KU fan. :(

Doesn't matter though, IMO.

A couple of things to note...

OU would come out on top in the human polls b/c of they way they started the season, top 10 from the start.

SOS isn't a factor anymore. The computers don't take SOS into account, haven't for a couple of years.

If OU goes undefeated, they will also have to go through Mizzou in the Big 12 Championship.

I don't see Auburn being a top 20 team when all is said and done.

We may never face Florida.

I think you are confusing SOS with margin of victory. They capped the margin to reduce the number of intentional blowouts...but I know Sagarin still uses SOS, as does Colley Matrix, Massey, and I think Wolfe does as well, but I am not positive. Then there is the real-world comparison of SOS that voters will look at when it comes down to the wire. It is easy to say that they would not jump us over them, but they jumped OU over UGA.

I am not sure that USC goes undefeated, either. They are very good, but they have found a way to lose to lesser teams.

OU will probably torch Missou's secondary.

I just hope Saban and the other coaches keep our young guys focused on one game at a time. We can't afford to look past anyone.

A lot of minds will be changed if an SEC team gets through their schedule undefeated. If, after the season is done, you're looking at an undefeated USC, an undefeated Oklahoma, and an undefeated team from the SEC - the the matchup will almost certainly be between USC and the SEC Champ.

Oklahoma, like Ohio State, has already been in that situation recently and lost big time. Meanwhile, a two-loss SEC Champ showed that it could whip an undefeated winner of another major conference.

Combine that with all the hype the SEC is getting this year about being by far the best conference - unless that perception changes - I see a 0 or 1 loss SEC winner playing USC.

I don't see that. OU could easily go undefeated but I think the NCG will be between the SEC champ and whoever has a better record between USC and the Big 12 champ.
