🏈 I was impressed with the kickers

Going in to the season I expected the kickers to cost us a game. Not anymore. Cade Foster consistently kicked the ball into the end zone and the punter (Shelley?) hit 2 nice punts. Good job gentlemen.

I have to agree. All those guys played great. Having a reliable punter and kicker takes a lot of pressure off both the offense and defense. We had a few years there where every PAT was an adventure. I'm hoping those days are over.

Cade Foster was in on every tackle on kickoffs. Built like a linebacker. Mandell was the biggest surprise of all. Both had great games.

cade played linebacker @ southlake, look up some videos of him online of him in the weight room, pretty impressive for a kicker for sure.

not sure how cody was a surprise...he was a top 5 punter outta high school. gonna be interesting to see how the the punter competition plays out this year, we used a scholarship on the other guy I believe.

It was surprise to see him perform. What you hear and what you see are two different things. I knew about Cade because I have watched the videos. You just do not see punting highlight/hype videos.

I knew nothing about our punting situation before the game last night. I was worried until I saw pre-game warmups when Mandell was consistently punting 50 + yards, (a couple of them were 60+ [with no rush of course]) The punts were high and took a while to get downfield which lets our coverage have time to get there and Mandell looked like he was constantly working on his mechanics - which were superb. Punting looks to be in good hands this year.

I was pleased with our overall special teams performance as well. I seriously thought it would be more of a problem than our defense. Keep up the great work fellas.
