🏀 I have to give a hat tip to Indiana this week with their firing of Crean.

Timing.

When a coach is hired, or fired, a lot of the times the news will break similarly to one of those infamous "Friday news dumps." In case you might have missed it, that certainly wasn't the case with Indiana firing Crean.

I was sitting with a friend chatting over a few beers while waiting for the first game to tip-off Thursday when Indiana released the news they'd fired Crean. If you haven't paid attention to the Hoosiers this season they didn't get to the Big Dance as well as the NIT. But, they certainly were in front of everyone when they announced his firing minutes before this seasons tournament started. Instead of the ESPN talking heads breaking down the early games all eyes and attentions were focused on one thing: Indiana fires Tom Crean.

Even the most casual fan knows IU is serious about their basketball (despite the questionable hires as of late.) You have to love their timing!

(Ol' Tom can always call Mark if he needs a shoulder ... or someone to empathize with him.)

How long has it been since Indiana has done anything in college basketball? It seems like it's been years.

and in 2015-16.

Regular season champions that season.

I can't recall who it was I heard the other day (before he was fired) talking about how poorly Creen has done recruiting inside the state if Indiana. I think it's safe to say that he's been a bad fit from day one.
