Always thought that once Tiger got a little older and slowed down his swing, he'd go on a major run like no other. Jack won 6 more majors after he turning 35, Tiger has won 0 majors since turning 35.

It's been almost 10 years since Tiger won his last major and now there are suggestions that he could be retiring soon. That 1999-2002 run he has was just ridiculous.

Enjoy whatever good moments Tiger Woods has left, because there won’t be many

I've always wondered about the coincidence of Tiger Woods April 2008 season ending for a knee surgery just 3 months before the PGA was to start testing for steroids.

Then, he never came back to the same form.

Please, the day pro golf or the Olympics or the NBA or college football, or anything else associated with sports catches up with steroid/HGH testing will be the real miracle of life. Ain't gonna happen. When people speak of technology making the difference with distance, I laugh.

But back to Tiger's dominance. The absolute, most intimidating golfer in the history of the sport. Tiger went on a 14-year run, the likes of which no golfer or fan could imagine. I never saw that much consistency and power ever, with the best putting stroke when the pressure was overwhelming to all mere mortals. IMO, the absolute greatest golfer in the sport.

Someone ask me about Lebron?

How can you call him the best golfer ever? He doesn't even have the most tour wins or major wins. Sure, his run was pretty damn amazing, but every generation says that about a player. He was in the zone until he got popped by his wife and psychologically lost it and the wear and tear on his body caught up. Nicklaus and Bobby Jones are almost impossible to top. Bobby Jones would be on the top of the list had he not retired at ~28. Tiger was damn good, but he isn't the best. If you take character into the game which some people hold in regard, Tiger is way down the list with his crapoy attitude, cussing around young kids that idolized him, and his overall better than everyone demeanor. Let's not even forget the stories the SEALs have told about him.

You don't want to separate athletic achievement from social disorder and frailty and you don't have to. I don't think he really stood for too much as far as qualities and principles go. Certainly no one I think I would want to hang with, but with a golf club in hand, he was Mozart at his craft.

I grew up admiring the talent of Muhamad Ali and who said and did more off the cuff crap then that dude. I don't think even Ali believed half the outlandish stuff he would spout off. Old timers were not backing off of their claim that Joe Louis or Rocky Marciano were better. Younger generation said it was Mike Tyson. But Ali is still the only athlete I had on my wall growing up. Just the way it is.

I agree with you, he was built for playing golf. He is the greatest golfer I have ever seen in my 33 years. My dad says Jack. Maybe Speith will get on a run, or Dustin Johnson. They both have the tools to get on a run, but have yet to show the mental ability for a streak like Tiger displayed.

Joking aside, easy to conclude that all those surgeries may have introduced a dependency on pharmaceuticals. Sad, hope he can get things on the right track.

I've seen far too many friends and family members get addicted to this crap. Something has to change. Doctors over-prescribing, patients lying about their conditions to feed the addiction, big pharma greasing far too many palms, etc.

Yes, I agree with you. Luckily I am not dealing with any family or even friends caught up in the pills market, but after reading and watching shows on the matter it's easy to say that prescription meds might be the deadliest drug in the world.

Significant problem, chances are someone you know is dealing with it in secrecy. Wrap your head around this one, in 2012 alone, there were 259 million opioid prescriptions written in the United States.
