There seems to be a little confusion over how to embed tweets and different videos with this new software.
Here's a quick step by step example to guide you through the process.

In a nutshell, with twitter, all that's needed is the url of the tweet itself. The url will resemble something like this.

Code:
https://twitter.com/AlabamaTrack/statuses/472968537707773953

If you click on the actual tweet itself you'll be provided with another option you can use. For mobile users, this is likely the easiest method.

Simply copy the url of the tweet and paste it within the reply box.

With videos, the process works the same way. You can paste the url of the video itself or you can use the options found in the kitchen sink of the editor.

@TerryP Can we do this with articles, or is that all copy and paste?

The easiest thing to do is copy and paste articles. There are modifications built in that automatically take some web sites and embed them.

You can do it with web pages...doubt you'd want to do that much coding though and in the end it would end up copying the article, all the ads, all the comments, etc.

What you see there is the result of...

Code:
[parseHTML] <object data=http://www.rolltidebama.com/forum/index.php?threads/how-to-embedding-tweets-and-video-inside-of-posts.278661/#post-909730 width="[B]600[/B]" height="[B]400[/B]"> <embed src=http://www.rolltidebama.com/forum/index.php?threads/how-to-embedding-tweets-and-video-inside-of-posts.278661/#post-909730width="[B]600[/B]" height="[B]400[/B]"> </embed> [B]Just and example [/B]</object> [/parseHTML]

...a lot of typing versus highlight, copy, and paste.

@Mr. Pink It wouldn't be something I haven't/will as well...

In my opinion, it comes out better with the responsive end of the web site ... easier to read over when you're just surfin' around on the phone, etc., ya know? I suppose that was one of, if not the, primary reason for adding all of that. :headscratch:

I'm usually on tapatalk, so it all looks the same to me. Some of the posts here I have noticed say "Unsupported XXXX" on tapatalk though, and I'm not sure if that is an error on my end or the person posting.

@doemasters

. Some of the posts here I have noticed say "Unsupported XXXX" on tapatalk though,

Wasn't aware of that. Thanks.

I wonder how long that's going to be around. The way Google is changing their SEO policies and showing preference to responsive sites forums that aren't are going to find themselves a few pages back...

I thought maybe he was using Tapatalk

@Mr. Pink mentioned something about that app ... maybe a miscommunication with the way things are coded here and there.

Tapatalk is available for those that like to use it. The only thing that's not responsive on this site is the ACP (and that's about to be.)

So many times ... when I go to other sites to look at something they've got video's that run automatically. Yes, browsers do tell you which tab it's in but that does NOTHING to qualm how much it pisses me off to have audio going on when I didn't want it.

SO...

(There's a lot of little short cuts built in to the original version of this software...makes it easy.)
