The numbers after five weeks.
The numbers weren't as overwhelming except for the only two that mattered. Alabama's 38-10 win at Georgia was more about the intangibles than the stat sheet in a soaking rain storm.
It outgained Georgia 379-299 but scored in all three phases of the game. Alabama held the ball for 34:03 and scored on both red zone trips. If there's a number that stands out that misrepresents the outcome, it's Alabama's third-down conversion success rate. It was just 1-for-12.
Conversely, Jake Coker was efficient. The senior quarterback was 11-for-16 for his second-best completion percentage of the year (68.8). He was 71.4 percent against Wisconsin (15 of 21).
On the other side, Georgia threw a season-high 31 passes with 11 catches (second fewest of the season). The 106 passing yards was a season low.
But the final stat sheet shows Alabama out-gained Georgia by just 80 yards. That's where touchdowns on a blocked punt and interception factor into a 28-point win.
Anyway, Alabama improved its national standing in a few key places like rushing and total offense. Here's the rundown of the Tide's national statistical standing with comparisons to Saturday's opponent, Arkansas.
