🏈 How Brady Can Help OJ Howard

This is a good article about how Brady can help OJ Howard get more touches and TDs. I said this when Brady signed with Tampa. OJ will hopefully work hard this off season to make sure he is doing things right, and he can earn Brady's trust and be a big target. If the season is played I think we will see big things from OJ.

How Brady Can Help OJ

OJ is much faster than Gronk and athletic. Gronk was just a massive dude with huge hands, and was also a good athlete. I say all of that because Brady is getting a faster version of Gronkowski with just as much ability. If they install an offense that contours to Brady's abilities, his intelligence and the athleticism on the outside will open up OJ for a Hall of Fame career depending on how long Brady can keep playing.

Yeah I'm sure having another dominant TE was one of the appealing things about coming to Tampa. I'm expecting OJ to have a gigantic season and Brady finally having another Randy Moss-esqe target on the outside (Evans) again is scary. If he is 75% of what he once was the NFC South is going to be tough this year.

I hate this for OJ. I can't believe the Bucs would take a chance on an old player who's been out of the league for a year and has a history of injury problems. The NFL just doesn't make sense. This is why I don't watch the NFL.

OJ just hasn't stepped up and performed for the most part. He sure looked the part. JMO but he just doesn't have that fire/drive to really be amongst the best TE.

I would doubt OJ is going anywhere. My guess is that Gronk will be a 3rd down/ red zone player. He is too old and beat up to play every down and I doubt he is fast enough to beat anyone up the seam anymore. He will use his craftiness and his hands to make plays. Also, the last time I saw Gronk he was super skinny and had lost like 40 lbs. I doubt he is anywhere near playing size or shape which means Tampa will need insurance policy. If I am them I also know that this Gronk thing is probably only for a year at best so they better plan for what's next.. how much could Gronk's presence help OJ learn how to use his size and speed to be dominant.

The Patriots currently have just over $1 million in cap space, a number that didn't change when they moved Gronk, who didn't count against their 2020 cap number. Howard carries a $3.5 million cap hit, so New England would need to free up some room before trading for the 25-year-old tight end.

It's possible that maneuvering could happen at the 2020 NFL Draft, where the Patriots have 12 selections and potentially could swing a deal that involves Howard.

But Howard has been on the market for a while, so it's also possible New England addresses its tight end need via the draft instead.

OJ hasn't performed. He drops a lot of passes and they don't throw to him often. I remember he had a pass thorwn to him in the saints game and he tried to catch it behind his back and tipped it up and ended up interception that was his fault not Winston. NFL is what have you done for me lately. The coaches don't have a lot of time before they get fired so they gotta win now. They don't have time for players that are not performing. That being said....Gronk in his old age was always hurt. Unless all that weed he has been smoking with all of his mamajuana farms he owns. He might be ok...lol
