I had full butt pucker for most of the first half. Those cats they were playing were a very veteran team that won 24 games last year and had back most of their team. That point guard was quick and quick comes.. you couldn't touch him in a phone booth he was so quick and number 25 was about 6'6 or 6'7 and had a sweet stroke. They were for real and it was a good experience for our young team.

Second half, Avery decided he was gonna make someone else score besides 25 and it rattled that point guard for a while. He was still trying to force the ball and ended up turning it over several times which got us going. When he finally figured out that we were going to force him to score to win he started shooting it and damn if he didn't make everything he looked at. If that little guard can score like that, keep #25 involved and use his natural quickness and court vision to feed his teammates they are going to be nasty for anyone who plays them going forward.

I feel fortunate to have snuck out a win in that one. We also have some other issues going forward we play Florida and A&M twice each in the SEC schedule and truly have a really difficult conference schedule all together.. meaning we need to dominate this non-conference schedule to have a chance to go to the tourney this year.

Meh, we could win some of those SEC "toughies" this season. No one in the SEC looks any better than the Tide. This team can play.

Experience during the first half of the season. Then Key returns. After that, as Barry Gibb said, "You should be dancing, yeah."

UTA is a very good team that tests us last night. We should also be able to get a little better read on this team after the next two games. We have the potential to be a good basketball team by seasons end.

I'm a jinx.....over these last many years if I watch then we lose so I stopped. Then last night I tuned in with 5 minutes to go and finished out the game and I be damn if we didn't almost lose that game. I'm 67 and as Lt Col Frank Slade said..."I have been around you know" and I'm hopeful this bunch will get Bama back up to speed. It would be great to have excitement back in Bama BB.

Hello all. The best takeI have heard on this team was Mo Williams on the broadcast. This is the deepest Bama team I can remember. Deep in terms of guys you are not afraid to have on the court when the game is on the line. All this and we still don't have Key back on the court. The problem for now is that there are so many new pieces of the puzzle that we have not quite worked out the chemistry. The more we play the better we get. I am very upbeat about this team. As far as the newcomers, Sexton is special, Petty is explosive, and I really like Jones. We will know more after the weekend games against BYU and Minnesota.
