🏈 Holding call.....and no first down???

was anyone else confused by this? Was it because the hold was on a run play and not a pass or what. I guess in the long run it didn’t matter but I thought all holding calls were 5 yard penalty and auto first down....? No?

I was at the game and didn’t understand that at all! Did you watch it on TV? Did the announcer not address it? Because I was very confused!

Right Bama ended up scoring but we should have gotten a new set of downs close to the goal line.

That enforcement of the penalty and the hands to the face penalty where Irv Smith fumbled going in confused me. I though defensive holding would result in a new set of downs and I thought the hands to the face should have been enforced from the previous spot. I had never seen anything like that. The Viles in the stands were acting like that changed the game right there. LMAO!!! Dumbass Viles!!
