Alabama Crimson Tide

This game is going to be very interesting. The last time they played Va Tech the tide got routed. I don't see that happening with Saban as coach and all the talent BAMA has. Bama will have to come out focused to play. Unlike the Utah game where they didn't want to play Utah. It was a big let down to play Utah. The the Andre Smith goof up. All of that cost them the game. Clearly BAMA was the better team. They didn't want to be there. Frank Beamer is a good coach but not a great coach or recruiter. Bama will clearly have more talent than Va Tech although that will be mostlu young talent. Most bama fans are way to confident they will beat Va Tech. I don't happen to be one of them. Last year Clemsom was just blind sided by the tide. They cam in a big favorite and never considered being stomped into the ground VA TECH will be more ready. Talent and coaching still win out. Need some luck to. Win the turnover battle. I can't wait to see the reports about Trent Richardson the 5 star running back and alabama crimson tides number one recruit. The guy is a north and south runner with great speed. I think he will challenge for the starting job at RB. Mark Ingram is a good RB but not a Richardson. Also Roy Upchurch really showed what he had last year and he will be back. I have never seen a BAMA RB rotation like they have now. Been a bama fan all my life and never seen anything like it at all positions. With Mike Shula as coach BAMA used to cry for a 4 star recruit. Now they are loaded with 5 star recruits. I thought Shula was going to have to put in a change of address as much time as he spent at Tim Tebow's how. That was totally crazy to spend that much time with a recruit. I'm glad BAMA didn't get Tebow or SHula would still be coach. Bama would still be a lousy team. The best thing that happened was when BAMA lost to MSU and AU then you knew bama nation wouldn't put up with that. Mal moore did something right and somehow got Nick Saban. Some people say BAMA fans are arrogant. We were spoiled during the Bear years. We are very glad to be back. Les Miles IMO isn't a good coach at all. I think he will get canned in a couple of years. He has talent but he's not a very good coach. Urban Meyer got a new contract today making him higher paid than Nick Saban which means nothing. Tebow made Meyer at Florida. I have never seen a player like Tebow. BAMA would have beat them in the SEC championship game. Tebow willed his team to a win. Never ever have I seen a leader like Tim Tebow and I hope he makes it great in the NFL. Tebow has his priorities straight. GOD is number one. Family is number two and then football. If you don't have GOD in your life you have nothing. Got side tracked their. I will post training camp updates when they come in. Very interested in the top 10 recruits. Trent Richardson,James Carpenter,Nico Johnson,D.J. Fluker,Michael Bowman,Dre Kirkpatrick,Rod Woodson,Kenny Bell,Chance Warmack and Tana Patrick. Just those 10 would make a great recuiting class. Now who do we think will make the biggest impact of these great signees? I say Richarson or Fluker. What does everybody else think about this? I say Trent Richarson will be in the running back rotation in the first game and may win the starting job in fall practice. That's one thing I like about Saban. He will play the best. You could start for 3 years and if somebody is better they will start.

'Sup, Donny. Welcome.

alabama vs. virginia tech

First and foremost, the only way for VT to stop the Tide would be to have Obama nuke the moon. Too big, too fast, and too strong, the tide rolls right over VT. They just don't have enough offensive line to stop that much crimson. Their qb has thrown more interceptions than td's. Yes, they know what to expect, you can set a clock to the evening tide coming in. You know it's coming and they (Hokies) know its coming but they just don't have enough on either side of the ball to stop it. They are dependant on a fast, poor decision maker to make big plays for them. If their special teams make some really big things happen for them, they may not lose but by 3tds. Otherwise, I see an embarrassing outing by the Hokies. Also, Trent Richardson will b a great rb for the tide, but don't expect him to have a break out season like Julio Jones did as a freshman. Ingram will be the man in 09. Trent needs a little more time in the program to develop strength and to learn more about the offense. It's just harder to break out so early as a rb. There's just more to learn and develop. I expect a great year and lots of yards but not b the starter this season. I think that Danny Lee Jesus Fluker will be starting by the 4th or 5th game and to be the biggest freshman contributor to this outstanding team. Also, look for Mcelroy to be every bit as good as Ole Miss Jevan Snead. This kid is good he just hasn't ever had his chance. But why pass when you can cram it down everyone's throat?:a:

A little picky, but a couple of things that jump out to me.

On Trent, the kid doesn't need anymore strength. It's a one in a million occurrence for someone like him to be as much of a physical specimen as he is—to the point the S&C staff are holding him back.

Learning the offense—agreed. Although, reports make me believe he's in better shape (knowledge wise) on picking up blitz packages, etc. than a few other "star" RB's we've had here in the past. SA comes to mind.

I've mentioned it here before, once actually, very briefly.

Va. Tech and their special teams are often referred to as Beamer-ball. We've all heard it. BUT, how often have we heard people bringing up their special teams play over the last couple of years?

If the kick defense (punt and kick-offs) is as loose as it was last year Javy will have his yards.

I'm still of the opinion that the first team that makes it to that 21 point mark wins this game. I'm interested to see what the over/under comes out looking like. Right now, my gut says under 35.
