He's played too much to qualify, for one.

And two, why would he? He's a player that would have been gone after next season as it was—and if he comes back in his true form next year I see no reason he'd stay for 2011.

It's an injury very similar to Tim Castille's a few years ago. I use that example because it is probably the easiest one for Bama fans to remember.

That said...you never know how a kid responds to an injury like this.

Actually I am not familiar with him. I did a search and see he is playing for the Cardinals so this can't be that bad then,huh.

Sadly until last year I had to work on weekends making me miss the games for quite a few years. So then I missed on news of Tim. Then again,some news that was so big I heard about it at work was about Prothro's leg...ouch.If I ever end up having to work weekends again I hope to find them online afterwards.

I hate it for Hightower. I imagine this kid will work his tail off during rehab to get back in even better shape next Fall.

This is so sad for such a fine young man and such an important part of our D. Unfortunately things like this happen. How the team handles this type of adversity remains to be seen. He missed 3 quarters of this game, and our D didn't seem to miss much of a beat Sat. That should give them and us some confidence.

With this injury happening to Hightower, does this make McClain's decision to move on to the next level after this season easier?
I would love to see both of these guys on the field together again next year, but I wouldn't blame McClain if he decided to go pro after this season. There is a lot of $ waiting for him in the NFL, but I think I recall him saying he would return for his senior year before this season even started.....maybe it was just a rumor or wishful thinking on my part.
