ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit was on The Herd with Colin Cowherd on Tuesday and said he feels Alabama is the best team in the nation heading into the month of November.
"Best team in the country to me is Alabama," said Herbstreit.
"If you're just asking me on potential, on athletic ability, who are the two best teams in the country, just looking at them, I would tell you I think Alabama and Florida State are the two best teams."
Herbstreit also shared his thoughts on Alabama's upcoming game against LSU and says the Tide should run the table if they pull out a win in Death Valley.
"Going down to Death Valley at night, as we talk about often, is a challenge for anybody. This is a week where Blake Sims, we're going to find out how much he's really improved, because going on the road with this offense with Lane Kiffin, it's been a little more of a challenge than when they played at home because of communication issues with Sims and Lane Kiffin. If they can do to Death Valley and win there, I have a hard time imagining Alabama losing a game, whether it's Mississippi State or Auburn because they're playing those teams in Tuscaloosa."
When it comes to the College Football Playoff, Herbstreit shared which four teams he thinks will make the cut.
"We'll re-visit this but if you're asking me right now the teams that are going to get in, it's Florida State and TCU. We need to find the two other teams and I think those teams will be Alabama and Oregon."
Alabama and LSU will kick off from Baton Rouge at 7 PM CT. The game will be televised by CBS.
