Google this if you have time. It's "breaking" from one news outlet to another right now.

LSU’s Guice posts, then deletes, picture of him with new car

Unless LSU running back Derrius Guice has north of $50,000 laying around for a rainy day, this photo of him posing with his mother and a brand new car probably isn’t going to sit well with the NCAA.

As noted, Guice would quickly delete the photo. But as we all know, you really can’t delete anything from the Internet permanently. Guice is about to find that out the hard way.

This will likely lead to an investigation from the NCAA, ultimately focusing on whether Guice has received cash from either LSU itself or boosters of the program.

Needless to say, this was a major mistake on Guice’s part. It will be interesting to see what comes of it.

Amateur athletes not receiving pay for their hard work has been a major point of contention around both the college basketball and college football worlds.

Now, LSU might be embroiled in a bit of a mess itself.

just got text from a BR buddy, Guice mom Range Rover

Guice and his mom's new ride. WTF is this about?

These guys get dumber and dumber every year.
There was a thread started on an USC forum a few months ago that had a dozen or so pictures of Bama players with cars. You know how the replies on that went from rival fans. Yet, in a lot of cases it was someone else's car, a used car, etc.

I know it's brand new. I also know I know nothing about how they got it.

HOWEVER, ESPN just did a segment on Guice about how he's trying to get his mom out of "the Bottoms" of his home town, how his brother is in jail for either murder or attempted murder.

big dummy....if you gonna take money dont brag about it....LSU = dumpster fire anyway. Coach O got one more losing season to go and they will be hiring a new coach soon enough...prolly under sanctions by then.

Several years back ( around the $Cam Newton scandal) there was a long article written by someone on how a "bag-man" works for colleges and how easy it is for a kid to get a car a Div I school.

Cars are super easy to get and easy to "justify" within compliance depts. If it were a used car or is a used car, I doubt this makes much a blip on the NCAA radar.

I also know a lot about those stories behind the scenes, so I have my own knowledge and opinions on it all. To me it's different to just post something like that seeing the investigative trouble it can bring to the school and those coming up behind you. It's just selfish, but we all know that's never the concern of these guys. Cannot for the life of me understand why it's so important to show everyone else you've made it or how good you're doing. Another reason social media has been a negative for society in my eyes, keeping up with the Jones'.

Pretty funny here and by the way a new Range Rover starts at 90,000 and go up to 150,000. The difficult part of owning one isn't even the initial purchase.. it's the maintenance. Notorious piece of shit and everything to fix is stupid expensive. A mom in the projects can not afford! My buddy has one, owns a successful business and it drains him dry. Just had to replace the supercharger for around 8k and has had to replace the timing chain twice for 12,000 a pop. Thing is always broken and while they sell new for a crazy high price no dealer wants them on trade except for another Range rover dealer.

My point is first a lady living in the projects wouldn't qualify for that car, a college student with superior credit would not qualify for this car. Even if they bought it they couldn't afford the up keep on their own. The optics on this is very bad and Orgeron knows it. Apparently, he claimed Guice was out this week before this photo was reported but I ain't buying it more to come...

As far as bama players with cars. I have seen some like the Dre Swag mobile and even saw one of our players someone made reference to driving a Range Rover.. Greg McElroy.. PS his dad is and executive with the Dallas cowboys.. not living in the projects. I don't doubt that someone along the way may have gotten a favor from a dealership or two but I feel confident in Saban and the kids he recruits, the way he runs the ship and that if it is happening he nor the university are involved.

I can't seem to find a single fuck to give about stories like this. Literally not one single person that has commented on it (on any site, board, etc.) knows whose car that actually is, how it was purchased, even if its a damn rental. Yet somehow everyone knows it was an NCAA infraction. Just stop.

EXACTLY. That sh*t has been a drain on society. Used to just be the females that love to show off, now all the bros need the ego boost. SAD (trump voice)

I don't know much about that line other that what @Destiny's Child mentioned in terms of upkeep and cost.

I do know a guy that's a GM for dealership and he said that's a brand new vehicle. I don't know.

I get what you're saying here and I agree. Without knowing what's up, best be quiet. It's not a good look, regardless.

The caption in the picture makes one think for a second though.

That's the thing, though. It could 100 different things. Some local Baton Rouge car dealer could have GIVEN Guice that car. Some booster could have signed with him to get it. Some local bank may have given him a loan banking on his future earnings. Every single one of those things is an NCAA infraction. OR his mom could have leased it. He could have leased it. His mom could have mortgaged her damn house to give her son a nice ride with the thought being he wont have any problem making payments in less than a year. We have no clue but all these pretend Jessica Jones' think they KNOW.

But how do we react when an Auburn board or some goof on Twitter starts putting up pictures of Julio Jones' jeep?

Earlier in this thread I referenced a ESPN segment on Game Day concerning juice and where he came from. His story is just like Michael Oher's for a family that happened to be his guidance counselor in high school adopted him brought him in. He grew up in one of the worst neighborhoods there are. The special went into the fact that his mother still lives there and cannot afford to get out. Making everything you just said that I've quoted another violation.

That's the reason I said it doesn't look good because this picture is following that segment. It even went into the point of his brother being in prison on either attempted murder or murder charges.

No we don't know.

I'm pretty much in agreement with Bird... None of us know ish and Bama players always have clearn rides... Just sayin'.

But common sense says, why delete it?

Now fair or not he's put himself in a situation where he will have to explain it... Bragging gone wrong.

I react the same way, it was given to them. I don't make excuses for any player, no matter the team.

He must really live his momma to put her in a $90,000 ride instead of buying her a $90,000 house to live in and get out of the supposide worst neighborhood they live in.

Call it speculation, call kt opinion, call it what you want, but we all know how dirty things can get with these instances, so I'll side with what I can bet on making me money if I had to bet.

I'm sure he deleted it after people started commenting similar things we've seen in this thread.

I don't claim to know anything, but it does seem fishy to delete the picture/post if it was on the up and up. This is my only opinion. I don't know if the vehicle in question is new or used. I don't know if he has some wealthy family. I don't know if he took money. I do get tired of when pictures of these kids come out standing beside or in front of nice cars, a majority of rival fan bases start screaming "no way he got it legitimately!" They without saying it are often saying in other terms, "he can't afford that vehicle because he is black!"
Like @TerryP said, this comes out following the ESPN piece, it doesn't look good.
