Beating an undefeated Mississippi State. Stansbury cites the Bama home crowd as part of the trouble his team had.

Edit: Porkchop is correct, Miss. State was undefeated in conference play only.

MSU might have been undefeated in the SEC (I'd have to look) but their record was something like 15-3 going into this one.

Still a great win.

Something small, but something you didn't see much of during Gottfried's last few seasons. Grant's team was up, and he had 3 TOs remaining. He took a time out to COACH HIS TEAM and tell them not to foul. He then took another timeout to inbound the ball to COACH HIS TEAM and make sure they didn't panic and knew where to throw the ball into.

Hmmm, a coach, coaching through the entire game. I've missed that.

I listened to the game and watched a little as well. Great job by Grant and his staff. It's indeed nice to have a coach working the entire time the team is on the floor.

Something very nice coming down the stretch:

We went to the foul line three times in the last couple of minutes. Green, Brock and Torrance were all 2-2. Its nice to close the door on an opponent that way.

Just a note on what Coach Grant has to work with. Torrance was 4-8 on threes, Brock 2-4. The rest of the team was 0-7. Of the other players, only Charvez Davis is a threat from outside.
