Yep this is an area the current coaching staff although they think they know they really do not know how much Bama is loved not just in Alabama but nationally. There is passion they just simply can't understand until they experience. it. Not saying they will not adjust but it will still be a surprise. 24x7x365.
Man, Kirby has enough problems defending our normal offense, imagine how grey he will get trying to figure out DeBoer/Grubb's offense. Defensive coaches who played against him have said it's one of the complicated schemes they've ever had to prepare for.
I think this game garners as much attention as the Iron Bowl. The history of hating Auburn is there, but the media and challenge against Georgia makes this a testy one for us.
Deboer will have to get his feet under him in the SEC in his first year or two. Going to be some bumps in the road. The UGA game is likely one of those but I hope I am wrong.... Deboer coming in and doing that would be great. He should have the talent to do it but the team has to figure out how to execute his system. It will take time.
Depends on fans' perspectives. I'd think you'd want this W more so than against the LSU's of the world: you live there.
In this case I was thinking more about the optics on a few fronts. A win against Wisconsin will catch a lot of national attention. Following that up with a win against UGA?

Yep, you win the Georgia game, you start writing the national narrative about this new era. Lose and it's "Alabama isn't the same Alabama and back to reality". Win and it's "Alabama is stronger than ever and will keep rolling forward".
