I believe it's based on academic years. So if he enrolled as a full time student for the spring of 2008, this past fall semester would have concluded his year of sitting out and now he is eligible for the bowl game.

Do redshirts work the same way? Since its a new year can we play redshirts? Or is that based on season.

mmm i think redshirts are assessed by the nccaa at the end of the season
