I have heard about all of the "doom and gloom" I can stomach about this loss :lance: Its not the end of the world....we cant win forever....and we might just lose a game every once in awhile.....id say once every couple of years is one helluva stat that any team would love to have.....If its meant to be.....itll be. Frankly, I think the loss is a good thing....they needed a reminder as to how that feels.....Now RTR.............:a:

What we do from this point forward will define us as a team. Do we roll over on our collective backs and let every other team have their way with us? OR, do we come out swinging and kick the sh!@ out of every team left on our schedule? Losing sucks, but sometimes it is the reality check a team needs in order to be properly motivated when you have been on top for so long. Hopefully, SC just awakened a sleeping giant! Our team should now know that showing up to a game, ranked #1, does not guarantee a victory. You have to play the game, and if you're not fired up, the other team will kick your azz. Pretty simple. We all knew we were screwed when Trent returned the opening kickoff. He did not get out of 2nd gear all day. We were FLAT. Plain and simple.

As far as our passing game....Our receivers are open down the field. The problem is that our QB can not throw the long ball. McElroy had PLENTY of time to throw, but he is either A) Not seeing the receivers downfield or B) He does not have confidence in his ability. You can't ask your linemen to give you 6 seconds to throw the ball every time. You have to get rid of it in 3-4 seconds. We have a QB that can throw the long ball, but he is patiently waiting his turn, as he should.

Hopefully, this will light a fire under their butts, and we will start playing with a sense of urgency (that was non-existent Saturday) from here on out. Chin up, and Roll Tide!

AMEN!! Come on guys, it's not the end of the world and the players need our support more now than ever. We whine because our chance at this year's game might be over, but the players still have to take the field regardless. There are hundreds of players at other schools in the country who play their hearts out every week and know they have no shot at the big game, but they still do it. They don't quit. Are we? NC's are great and I like Bama playing for them as much as anyone else, but the important thing is the next game. Bring on Ole Siss and the Nutt.

I agree. For some reason this loss devastated me. Now that's just crazy. I lost a good night's sleep over a game played with a brown ball and a group of guys in their late teens and early twenties. Just silly.

I feel much better today. I love Alabama football! We've had some tough times and a lot of great ones. They can't all be sky high seasons. Roll Tide regardless!

Hey, I would much rather take an early season loss to an SEC East team than a late season loss to a SEC West team.

Bama only dropped down to #8, and a few of the teams (with the exception of Boise State & TCU) above them will probably have at least one loss by season's end.

If Bama wins out, they may still have a shot at playing for the NC.

It's all about taking care of one game at a time. If Bama does that, you can count on them climbing back up the polls.

Right now it's beat Ole Miss or else all those other worries & such become meaningless.

The team understands where they stand and that everything is still there for them. Word out of T-town is a pre 2008 Clemson feel is building "We have something to prove" amongst the players. The leadership has been good and the staff has a more willing group than they've had since camp began. So, everybody just needs to relax and let things play out.

Good, I'd love to see Bama come out and throttle every team it faces from here on out. We'll see for sure just who this team is now.

I agree, I knew we would most likely drop a game this year. Think of it this way, it wasnt to Auburn, UT, or LSU, the loss is to a SEC East team, so that doesnt kill us in the West, and USC is actually a pretty solid team. It wouldnt surprise me to see them win the East. Im ok with the loss, it sucks, but, there is a bright side.

Geezz, indeed. Four years ago they finished 6 - 7, not much better a year later, and have had only 2 perfect seasons in the past 30 years. To some fans I ask: At what point (for you) does dropping a game (or two at least) become the sit-back-and-relax reality of playing football? Can barely believe a thread was even started over this loss. Fans look forward; not backwards. See ya' on November 18th.

I was over it Saturday night. I expected us to lose a game and I'm glad it happened early. We have time to gain in the polls now and I also think it brings out some excitement. Our team will see now that nobody is going to roll over for them just because they are Bama. Saban has a lot to work with now. He has video to show them what happens when you don't listen and execute like you are supposed to.

Gee, silvermetalflake - thanks for the history lesson! It sounds like those silvermetalflakes may have actually been lead flakes. Here's some advice for you; stop eating the lead paint chips!

Let me make sure I have this straight; an "apparent" Georgia State fan (see ya' on Nov. 18th?) is lurking on an Alabama Crimson Tide football site and decides to do a drive-by to remind us of two recent bad seasons we had back in '06 and '07? Yeah, right. What a poser. As long as you're talking football history, why don't you tell us which team you cheer for other than Ga. St.?

And what were those pearls of wisdom you offered again? "Fans look forward; not backwards". I suppose if you don't have anything to look back at and be proud of, that's probably true. We Alabama fans have the luxury of looking forward to greats things to continue as well as the great tradition of our past. But, you wouldn't know anything about that, now would you?

Pardon us, Barner, if we take a pass on your advice on how to be a good fan. We'll see YOU on November 26th.
