Georgia fires recruiting program coordinator, suspends staffer

The Georgia Bulldogs will be looking for a new football recruiting program coordinator, and the team has also suspended its director of on-campus recruiting.

Georgia recruiting program coordinator Dacia King has been fired, and director of on-campus recruiting Lukman Abdulai has been suspended for a month without pay, sources told 247Sports. At this time, the reason for the decisions is unclear. It is also not known if the firing and suspension are the result of a related incident.

I can tell you of one thing going on. It doesn't deal with recruiting, but a coverup of a recent arrest. Kirby and the Dawgs are damn dirty.

i read on another board that it was "inappropriate" behavior with recruits. Possibly offering more than money to come to UGA.

Doesn't seem reasonable that you have back to back recruiting classes like the dawgs have enjoyed and fire your coordinators. I suspect Kirby has things in full lockdown and damage control.

I know it's not the RIGHT thing to do but I wish the Fighting Kirby's all the misfortune that can land in Athens. Next to F auburn the UGA folks are on my most disliked fanbase. Both groups have much more mouth than trophies and it is documented.

@JoseyWalesTheOutlaw, Kirbs is has been ticking folks off on the recruiting trail. What's of note to me is seeing how all the Kirby defenders from couple of years ago have seemingly disappeared. I get that they didn't believe they were pushing the envelope over there but I also believe they're beginning to see the picture more clearly.

Geez, over the last few months we've seen Mullen calling them out (and not for the first time,) we've seen Jimbo calling them out for lying about the quarterback situation around the last recruiting class, in the last week we've got Ole Miss insiders alluding to things being sketchy in Athens, and we're also seeing OU staff members getting upset about UGA's recruiting antics.

I got this yesterday:

Per the insider sites, this has NOTHING to do with sexual relationships of any kind. King failed to follow repeated protocol directives from the UGA Compliance office. The indication is that nothing she did was overly serious with regards to the overall compliance picture, but it was a wanton and repeated violation of University implemented compliance directives. If anything, it sounds like the worst thing that occurred was too much contact with recruits, putting the program at risk for minor violations. All indications are that Abdulai either was aware of King’s disregarding of the compliance directives and failed to report back to compliance, or he was made aware by a recruit and did not follow up, but a fellow staff member DID follow up when the same recruit mentioned it to the football staff. Not much to see here other than an employee violating University protocol that was put in place to protect the program; said employee was terminated; and resulting violations would be self reported and minor. The major sin here wasn’t any kind of NCAA compliance issue, but a wanton disregard for the directives set in her employment with UGA.​

I saw where their tight end Ford that transferred home to Illinois was not granted immediate eligibility. Also saw where a guy with a sick parent was not granted immediate playing time either. So you have Fields and Martell that transfer because they aren't good enough to win the job get to play immediately, but then these other two guys that actually have a reason dealing with sick relatives don't get the pass. Pretty pathetic and makes the NCAA look like they're on the take. Fields and Martell are both shady mofos and I bet money exchanged hands there from lawyers.
