Special Teams Continue Special Season
By Terry Pellman
Commitment.
Perserverance.
Work.
Those three words won’t have their place in the locker room when the Tide returns to the practice fields entering their last off week of the regular season. The reminder of just what they have meant is reflected in the 11-0 record this Alabama team has as they look to end the last of three streaks that were prevalent on their minds back in the 4th quarter program in January of this year. Yet, the posters with pictures reflecting 2007’s losses to Louisiana-Monroe and Mississippi State won’t adorn the walls.
The first game of this streak ended last week with a victory in Baton Rouge. Part two was concluded last night as the Tide handled a tough Mississippi State team, 32-7, to put an end to two consecutive losses suffered at the hands of the Bulldogs in 2006 and 2007.
Next up, the Auburn Tigers, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves even though that game was mentioned in last nights press conference and undoubtedly was on the mind of most Alabama fans as the clock ran down to 0:00 in Bryant-Denny Stadium.
