šŸˆ Former Ohio State wide receiver Duron Carter to visit Alabama; could join Crimson Tide for 2011 seas

so OSU doens't have the numbers to sign him?

These are my thoughts after reading the article. Ohio State didn't work for him and his grades. Maybe it was too loosey-goosey; maybe Tressel and staff didn't provide enough direction and guidance (outside of tattoos); maybe there were too many temptations, etc.... Whatever it was things just didn't work at Ohio State. So, no chance he goes back to OSU. I have a feeling that dad is driving this ship now, hence the stress of discipline and structure. Combine Saban's reputation in both of those with our great need for WR's, and it's a total win for the Carter family. I'd love to see us grab Carter. So many times guys like this have learned their lesson the first go-round and take it so much more seriously the second time. I have no idea about our scholly numbers, but it seems to me that the family could easily foot the bill.

Add Sanders to this class and we don't have anything to rival that publicity.

That's including the NC, Heisman, ...it would be a publicity coup.

And, I'll guarantee you...Sanders knows this as does Carter.

i'm curious if their signing rules or academic policy is what's forcing him to turn elsewhere. I'd imagine they are a proud OSU family...can't be easy for them to look elsewhere.

OK, look at this...

Most Violating Teams in a Major Conferences
Big Ten - eight out of ten or 80%
Pac 10 - seven out of ten or 70%
Big 12 - eight of twelve or 66%
SEC - seven out twelve or 58%
Big East - seven out of sixteen or 43% *Counts Notre Dame as they are a member
ACC - Three out of twelve or 25%

As of last year, OSU had 385 secondary violations over a nine year period. Now, we've got the "Vest" stories...what are they now?

just for the record - I dislike the big-ten and really dislike the oversigning cry babies. I dislike them for slinging mud all day at the other conferences - it seems like when they lose, they just lay blame elsewhere. nobody likes to lose, but making lame excuses for it is just stupid.

interesting, trying to think about the consistency in HC's in the big ten the last 10 years...to see if they are consistent.

Y would Sanders matter? Wouldnt this count towards the 2011 class since he would be able to play right away in 2011?

OSU is trapped; either they failed to provide the "discipline and structure" needed to help the kid succeed for them, or they signed someone that they should not have and booted him to JUCO (which is one of the "oversigning" enabling tricks that try to pin on the SEC.

Cris Carter's comments seem to indicate that he thinks that the Vest is failing his kids, and that CNS is without question better than the Vest in that respects.

Like I stated earlier, if you go by dad's words, he will be wearing Crimson.
