Day 1: Cooper Bateman
Bateman arrived in Tuscaloosa last spring as one of the top quarterback recruits in the nation. 247Sports rated him the No. 5 pro-style quarterback in the nation coming from Murray, Utah.

He enrolled early and participated in spring practice and took part in the A-Day game. Bateman's only public exhibition ended with two interceptions in three passes last April.

With AJ McCarron starting, Bateman was redshirted in 2013. He sat behind Blake Sims, Alec Morris and Luke Del Rio (who transferred to Oregon State) on the depth chart.

But the spring brings a fresh start. Can Bateman compete for the starting job this spring and summer? Take a look at his work in practice to this point in the spring.

i'm excited about this kid. i hope to see him do well at A-Day as opposed to last year's outing. :icon_bounce:

his pocket footwork looks a little rusty, but he is a good runner and has good throwing mechanics.
