They are ready for the beatdown to begin.

Several Florida players say that pictures of Kiffin are pasted throughout their locker room, and they're still fuming over what they say was a blatant show of disrespect for their coach.

"I couldn't believe what he said," Florida junior safety Ahmad Black said. "Not trying to be cocky or anything, but we've beaten them four years in a row ... by a lot, too. But taking shots at our coach is like taking shots at us. We're family. It's definitely personal now."

Also, the day Kiffin was introduced as the Vols' coach, he said during the news conference that he looked forward to embracing Tennessee's traditions and "singing Rocky Top all night long after we beat Florida next year."

Florida center Maurkice Pouncey's response?

"That's OK, because they've got something coming," Pouncey said. "(Kiffin) went public with all his stuff, but we'll do all our talking on the field. That's when we'll have something to say about it."

I must be out of touch with the times or something? :? Shut up Terry!

But whatever happened to respecting your opponent and talking them up? And when I say "respect", I don't mean that UT and UF, or even Meyer and Kiffin have to like each other. In fact, they should have a healthy amount of disdain for one another, but in public, there are certain rules you follow in sports. Certain lines that you don't cross.

What happened to the days when your team was just woeful and terrible, and couldn't beat a pee wee team? Whatever happened to wanting to "beat your opponent, not humiliate them"? Seems like there used to be a time where head coaches showed a certain amount of tact and diplomacy when addressing the masses. Now it's all about sound bites, and snubs, or bustin' caps in suckas' a**es.

I mean, there was a reason why certain sportsmanship rules were observed back in the day. I think Kiffin is going to learn why, and he's going to learn the hard way.

I must be behind the times.

Or maybe in Kiffin's case, its "smokin' a fool".

I think CLK is the exception, not the rule. Most of the SEC coaches abide by that section of the SEC's code of ethics.
