šŸˆ ā›³ Here's a clip of the exchange between Justin Thomas and his caddie on an approach shot. A good inside look at how the two communicate.

You might have to be a golfer to understand the decision they are walking through on club selection and distance. After all, it's a conversation you should be having in your mind on each shot. I find it pretty neat to hear them walking through JT's thought process.

strange yes, but I find it works better
I'd wager eight of ten golfers—who take the game quasi-seriously—have something in their routine others find strange. You talking to yourself about distance, trajectory, and the landing area is something I wouldn't find weird at all if we were playing together.

I've got a routine on the green a lot find odd. If you can picture a bowling motion—one you would have if you were trying to roll the ball up to the cup—you'll get a picture of how I tend to read greens. There's something about that routine of mentally pretending to roll the ball to the cup that gives me confidence in speed and distance putting. I can't tell you the number of times I've heard "WTF" or received a very curious look as to what I was doing in my set-up.

I'm nowhere near Kevin Na.

master your craft....and it all becomes a game

he mastered a game....and he makes it look like he's teaching a class on it every time he steps out on the course. it's like he approaches it like a business decision; "which club will give me the best shot at giving me the best shot to make the most out of this hole?"

I'm not trying to over-simply his approach, but that's how you play the game. It's no different than your once a month hacker who takes a 3w off the box versus the 1d
