One of their better receivers already wears #2, so Jalen probably had to pick a new number. He left to be QB1, so maybe thats it.

“There’s no doubt Tua,” Tuberville said. "He can throw the football, and that’s what you have to do.​

"Jalen’s got a lot of work to do. I’ve been around that system Lincoln Riley runs. He doesn’t run many plays. He runs 4 or 5 plays. It’s a very simple system. Jalen will learn it very quickly. The problem he’s got is he has to throw the ball down the field consistently 15 or 20 yards down the field with deep crossing routes.​

He should see some pretty good gaps to haul the mail through. I would think that Rilley is good enough to shorten the passing game a little with quick throws. Otherwise, Jalen didn't have the pressure last season to perform each week as the starter. That is about to change, dramatically.
