There's always something important to discuss when the SEC power players meet in Destin.
A few other potential topics for debate:
-- The ACC has proposed an early signing period for football. Alabama coach NickSaban likes the concept, but not the ACC's version.
-- LSU athletics director Joe Alleva said he expected the SEC to eventually soften its stance that prohibits the sale of alcohol at athletics events. Alabama AD Bill Battlerecently told AL.com there are still a few issues to resolve before that would happen.
-- This will be the last business gathering of league officials before the August launch of the SEC Network. Issues relating to the operation and distribution will likely be a big part of discussions. The network will go live Aug. 14.
