I've been in Dallas all week, and wore a Bama shirt out one night and a polo today (the third friday of October), and it took all week for someone to come up and tell me how '09 woulda been different if ole Colt had played.
Will do. My office is on Bryan and I was up at the Marriott at Bryan and Pearl. I had an old buddy who showed me around a bit - an open air high end country place up in the Greenville St/Ave area, the Ginger Man, whatever the Spread Eagle is now (somebody's on Elm), and Dodie's for grilled oysters and shrimp n grits.
The exchange with the UT fan was nice enough, but I couldn't help but spring like a leopard. After initial pleasantries, he said, "Now, I'm not one to whine, but..." I stopped him cold and said, "Lord, you're not going to bring up Colt McCoy, are you?". Taken aback, he countered, "I'm not saying we'd have won, but the score would've been different."
I don't get there way of thinking on that; in the same train of thought had Sam Bradford not got hurt earlier in the year we'd have played Oklahoma rather then Texas in that game.
I've had a cpl run ins with Texas fans over the years about that... I always answer with my own question "what if Colt McCoy wasn't soft as toilet tissue?"
