After four NFL seasons with the Green Bay Packers, running back Eddie Lacy signed a one-year, $5.55 million contract with the Seattle Seahawks last month. Seattle starts its offseason program on April 17, and Lacy isn't going to be commuting from his old home in Wisconsin to his new home in Washington.
So this weekend, Lacy is having a garage and moving sale. The former Alabama standout announced the event on Twitter on Wednesday.
Lacy didn't indicate what would be available on Friday and Saturday in De Pere, Wisconsin, but he did pledge that 100 percent of the money would be donated to charity and any unsold items would be given to Freedom House in Green Bay.
Lacy and his family lost their home in Gretna, Louisiana, to Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and Freedom House Family Life Advancement Center, which serves families in dire need of emergency housing, was a favorite charity of the running back during his time with the Packers.
