| RECRUIT Early National Signing Day starts Wednesday, December 19th.

I am just going to make my prediction now, for the main question marks announcing tomorrow. I'll take any and all flames later.

Nakobe Dean - Ole Miss

Evan Neal - Alabama

Trey Sanders - Alabama

Jordan Banks - Alabama

Still, having Sanders at 94% Bama this late makes me feel good. If he decides on someone else and 247 tries to claim that they predicted correctly, then I’ll be one of the loudest to call them on their bullschitt.
I can't say if you'll get your chance because I don't know if they'll take the line "we predicted correctly."

However...

Slow night at work—even though it was a clients Christmas party—led to me spending more time talking and texting with folks than actually "working the crowd." A few thoughts on your list.

I'm assuming you mean Jordan Battle? Jordan Banks is in the 2020 class. And yes, I agree, from what I understand he's signing with Bama.

I was left with the understanding that Dean was down to three last night: Ole Miss like you've mentioned, Bama and UGA. Dean was still being recruited heavily by Saban last night. It's a dead period so the fact he's still in communication with the staff is a good sign he's still listening. It's still a guessing game right now with Dean.

I've touched on it a little...re: Sanders and the importance of his signature. Personally, I don't put as much weight in where he goes as I do a guy like Neal (who I believe will sign with Bama tomorrow.) I don't mean to devalue him, or talents at running back. I do mean to caution the success of a running game is largely based on the offensive lines. To use an ol' cliche, "it's six of one, half of a dozen with another" when it comes to running backs. If we see Sanders to UGA—which is where I'm leaning this morning—signing a guy like Williams isn't what I'd consider a loss.

**FWIW, it's my opinion the biggest "need" on your list of four is Neal.

You better believe it. I believe these 17 and 18-year-olds is where the dynasty starts and stops. And so does anyone else with half a logical mind. It's hard to imagine that any recruiting class will be better than our 2017 bunch, especially on offense, but this group has the potential to come close. The proof is in their freshmen campaign, on the field, but today is the start of the journey. Should be a fun day.

The staff got a lot of good guys committed early but the closing has been very subpar
Let's consider what you're saying here for a second.

Dax decommitted from Michigan, committed to Bama, and said he wasn't signing until February. He lied to the staff on both when and where. But, the staff's closing has been sub-par.

We've seen a few circumstances where recruits have flat out lied to the staff about where they were attending school. Recruiting is cut throat business, but when you delve this far into the "gray areas," there's a five letter word that comes into play. Karma.

There isn't anything good that comes from something that starts off with deceit.

Yeah I couldn't edit it so ended up reposting but yes, as always the battle is won in the trenches and DJ Williams runs thru the hole Neal creates as well as Trey Sanders does!!!!

Unless there is something more to this story than what is being reported, In all honesty... do we want any kid with this kind of attitude? He wouldn’t last one year in the program.

Talent is a key metric, but equally attitude/personality needs to match. I really don’t sweat a kid that would treat his recruiting in this way. I almost feel like we escape a bad apple... time will tell.

Am I missing something. I know he committed, said he wouldn't sign til Feb and then signed with Michigan. But didn't we just sign a safety and have been still recruiting safeties since he committed? Is there some other part of this I missed?
