Duron: A paperwork issue he's got to get straightened out in the next few days. He's not currently enrolled.

Brent: Not enrolled today. He's still waiting for the same class to be cleared. I'm assuming he's waiting on the Clearinghouse, not UA.

Luatua: reportedly on campus and enrolled.

With Brent, yes I am having A. Hill flashbacks.

Problems at Russleville? Or just bad grades?

It was just one class he was having an issue with. It's the same class that kept him from enrolling in Summer I. I believe it is a science class, but I can't say I'm 100% positive on that. I am also not sure if it was a class he took at RHS.

Something to chew on...

I've considered BC to be a LB'er in waiting. Although, he does have experience running the ball. Does the news on Dee—if it is truly a ACL tear—put a different perspective on how BC might be able to contribute this fall?

damn Duron's the one I'm worried about, we need him THIS year.

Duron's situation seems to be the minor one. With DC, it's a matter of getting some paperwork straightened out. I don't know if it is a situation with paperwork from Coffeyville or it is from OSU.

It's a red tape situation with Duron vs a Clearinghouse issue with Brent. And yes—in fact psychojoe and I talked about this last night—Alfy Hill's situation is a vivid flashback I'd rather not be experiencing.

"Someone forgot their TPS report." Can you name the movie that line is from?

Any info on BC getting in. Would like to see him in esp. after the Dee Hart injury.
BC tweeted earlier that he will enroll in four weeks...so, his class is still being held up.

Just to put this in perspective, remember it is a Summer session. While these kids have a few weeks in the fall and spring to enroll in classes they don't have that luxury in the summer. If you consider Monday being a holiday, it's a four week class, and today is three days into that session, either today or tomorrow would have been the last day he could enroll anyway.

I'm assuming today was the last day considering his tweet.

Here's an excerpt of an interview with BC today...
"Everything collapsed," Calloway said. "There was a bunch of mix-ups at my school. I didn't know which class I was supposed to take, and I didn't take that class. I graduated fine, but I just didn't know I was supposed to take that class. I took the class, but they said I finished it too fast, so I had to take another class. Now I have to take this class for the next four weeks."

The Russellville High School star doesn't know who's responsible for the mistake, but he's frustrated that he can't get down to Tuscaloosa to start working out.

"I don't know who mixed it up," Calloway said. "Somehow, somebody messed up something, and I'm the one who has to pay the consequences for it. "I'm very excited (to get to UA), but every time I get ready to get down there and I think I'm good, something always comes up."

Calloway is confident that once he finishes the class he is scheduled to take this month, there will be no more issues regarding his eligibility.

"After I finish this class, I'm straight," he said. "I asked them today, 'Are you sure this is the last class I have to take? If I finish this class, am I going to get accepted?' They said if I go ahead and do it, I'll be straight."

Brent is simply too smart, or too diligent of a student, for the NCAA?

My parents and I went to my guidance counselor at my school in the spring," said Brent Calloway. "We asked if everything was in order for me to graduate and move on to Alabama. She told me everything was straight and in-line. I was good to go to Alabama.

"Then after gradution I am told I have to take an Earth Science class. Someone messed up because they told me I was good to go.

"I said 'whatever', so I took the class. I crammed everything in and got all the work done in three-and-a-half days. I took the tests and passed.

"We sent all the stuff to the NCAA. They came back and said they didn't approve, and they didn't feel like I learned enough.

"They are telling me I have to re-take the class. I'll start the class next Monday. The problem is they want me to take 180 hours of the class. I will have to take the class eight hours a day when I can be finished with it in four."

"I really don't understand why they are doing this, but I am not going to let this keep me down. I know what is waiting for me.

"I have talked to the Alabama coaches about it. They are really upset with what has happened. They don't think it's fair.

"It's going to be tough because I really won't have time to work out. I am feeling good. My workouts have been going great. I am faster than I have ever been, and I am 230-pounds."

Alabama will have four running backs in the stable with the loss of Dee Hart. Calloway is expected to contribute.

"I orginally planned on redshirting this year, but I don't think that will happen anymore because of the loss of Dee Hart," he said. "They are going to need me at running back. That's where I will start."

Thanks for the update Terry. It does appear that Brent is too smart for the NCAA. 230 pounds? Gracious he's going to be a bruiser if he gets time in the backfield

True. But, even with adding BS to the RB rotation we still don't have what Dee would have brought to the field. I hate using the term "scat back," but the attributes most scat backs have Dee also possessed.

He'll provide depth, at least.

I wonder if he's talked to the staff about working with the RB's since Dee's injury. I'd imagine so considering he's probably been dealing with them on his qualifying.
