While the whole thing does smell and have a wierd cow patty stinch, I'm just ready to move on. I think there are some wierd ways to hypothetically connect dots and all but I'd rather this be a lesson to our players not to get involved with anyone outside of the school. and program. But the other bad thing is, your family is going to really hate you now. You see, Alabama’s coach already hates Auburn. Screamed so on the sidelines of Bryant-Denny last season well before tacking on the last two touchdowns. Such perceived activity by anyone with Auburn ties that impacts the young men he cares about and coaches, while affecting the hard work and preparation he puts into his job…well, that might irritate him to a point that makes 36-0 look like pre-game warm ups.

my wife is a barner and she thinks it is Auburn people trying to set Alabama up.

She took one look at the info, lowered her head, and said that the whole thing looks like an attempt by Auburn boosters to get Alabama in trouble.

I had never heard of Mr. Anderson until this story came out. And I don't know anything about the whole laptop deal.

But seriously, if an Auburn supporter wanted to set Alabama up for NCAA trouble, wouldn't he lavish more "benefits" than what Julio and Ingram got, which was an opportunity to help Anderson on to and off of his boat for "one last" fishing trip? Several different sources who know Anderson personally told the news media that he is wheel-chair bound. Some media source has reported that Anderson met Julio when he was in high school, working a part-time job that had nothing to do with athletics.

The fishing expedition went out only six miles, because the Anderson couldn't take the pain of the rocking boat in the wheelchair. And both football players have already paid whatever nominal amount the cost was to a charity. They have been cleared to play.

It's hard for us believe that there are people who don't follow college football, but there must be a few somewhere. If this Anderson guy is one of them, he would have no idea of what NCAA improper benefits are.

Surely an Auburn supporter bent on destroying Alabama football would do something more overtly bountiful and corrupt than that. If Anderson turns out to be an evil plotter of Bama's downfall, we'll have plenty of time to hate him when all the facts are out.

But what if he's just a clueless nice guy?

Scarbinsky was the first to interview Anderson, but wasn't the first to find everything out.

The details he's released in his articles the last few months were discussed at the end of May.

I wondered why on earth he chose to "break this story" almost three months after it happened.
