"Didn't Meyer just get interviewed by the FBI about Cam Newton? Wasn't the NCAA ruling on the allegations that Pouncey took money from an agent while at Florida supposed to be revealed next week?"

I am not saying this is true, but it seems like it could fit with everythings else going on.

Nothing would surprise me, but I think he is sincere. He tried to leave last year, but at the urging of the brass at UF (Foley) and his wife, he decided to stay. (That is a key in the debunking of the Pete Carrol assimilation )

I think it has to do more with being a dad and not letting his kids grow up without one. He is financially independent enough to take a 5 year hiatus and come back to any good position open in College. Crap if his replacement tanks, he could replace his replacement in about 4-5 years and will be able to pick up where he left off.

I liken Meyers leave to that of McCarty's at Colorado about 20 years ago. As hard as it is to believe, some things in life are more important than football.
