The San Francisco 49ers have signed third-round pick RB Glen Coffee, the team announced Monday. According to a league source, Coffee signed a four-year deal worth roughly $2.58 million that includes a signing bonus close to $830,000.

I am admittedly selfish as a Bama in that I wish Coffee had stayed one more year. I though that, since he only started the one year, he could have improved his draft position considerably by coming back in '09. Still, I wish him well. I think he'll be a great pro back.

With his running style CP, I think he was better off for going in. Another year in college was a year wasted on his pro career that he could not get back. He is not Earl Cambell but he does not shy away from contact.:smile:

He is a one cut power runner and should do great in SF's scheme.

Very cool, I loved watching that dude run in the couple Bama games I caught last year. He seems to have the strength & toughness for the next level, and he actually reminds me of their current starter (Gore) quite a bit. Hopefully San Fran can actually put together a decent offensive line, and the buzz about Alex Smith looking great in camp is legit.

Him and Gore are similar and have the same mentality about running from what I have read.
