🏈 Coach Nick Saban - Arkansas post-game presser

Coach has that special hairdo going on like Alfalfa from our gang

So what AJ says again is sounding to be more true. He wanted a QB sneak, Lane didn't, and a QB sneak is what was ran. I think McCarron's words were taken differently than what he meant, and I also think he should quit bashing his alma mater to interpretation, but everything he is saying appears to have some truth to it, atleast a little.

A handoff on 4th and short can prove disastrous more times than not. A fumbled snap, taking the ball off the LOS to a back 5 yds deep, penetration from slanting DL, etc. the sneak was a good call, but Blake seemed more interested in showing his vertical leap instead of staying low behind his linemen. Dumb on Blake's part.

The center got drilled into our own backfield and I think that caused him to go straight up instead of forward. I highly doubt he jumped straight up without some other help causing it.

I think this is what happened. The hole in which Sims was supposed to "dive" through was blown up and the lineman pushed back into Blake. Causing him to panic and jump.

In regards to the QB sneak: "I just tried my best to compete for the first down," Sims said. "I jumped. I shouldn't have ever done that. I learned from my mistake and hopefully coach will give us another chance and I will get that quarterback sneak."

It was a mental error, much like all of the other "mental" mistakes made during the game. The game was ugly, but Bama came out with a win. Did you see how the players reacted when Collins made the interception? The team fought through adversity and overcame it. Is that not what Saban has spoken abut all these years?
