I watched most of them. There were stints when we did'nt have a tv. But loved hearing Bear's take on his team's play and their opponents.

It was always a race home after church during football season so my Dad and I could watch his show. Coach Bryant and the College Football recap show with Bill Fleming was like @OldPlayer said, the only way to see highlights of games due to the very limited tv games.

If you were a football fan in the 60s, you would have. One game a week on abc, coaches shows on Sunday. As 93grad said earlier, College Foitball Review show at mid day, that’s all there was.

I was born in the mid 60's. Family was all bama fans so started really understanding Bama football in 70's. My first understanding of the Barn was what they were in that decade which was after Bear had put them in their place.

football world was more gentle then. Like the political world. Didnt have to hate one tobe a fan of other....

I never remember....hate....being used in my house....growing up...
Strong dislike....but .....liked beating the other.....
Most people i knew....were fans of one but pulled for other...when theywerent playing ur team.... dont know if that extended to ND or GaTech though...

Never thought much about the Barn during those days because well they were properly put in their place by Bear. Not many Barn fans were visible during those days. They did not make it visible they were barners because becuase they were a joke.

Viles were always bigger rivalry and to me still are. Lived close to the Tn state line and interacted with them a lot more. I also have a very obnoxious sister in law that is a vile fan... That did not and does not help any.
